Hey there, conscious creators!
Hope you've got good plans and an abundance of sunshine as you head into the weekend!
This week, I wrote about what conscious manifesting is truly all about, summed up in five words.
When you hear those words "conscious manifesting," what comes to mind?
The Law of Attraction?
Magical thinking?
Meditation, perhaps?
Despite popular belief, manifestation is not a mental exercise for wishing things into your life. Nor is it some woo-woo game of accumulation and accomplishment.
This is where many people get tripped up or turned off by the whole idea of manifesting. However, what most don't realize is that manifestation is less about trying to make something happen and more about allowing something to happen.
It's about personal unfoldment and expansion.
I like to define it as: Expanding your capacity to receive.
But what the hell does that even mean?
I know it may sound like more pretentious woo-woo speak, but bear with me. In this week's featured essay, I delve into this powerful concept of “expanding your capacity to receive” and why it is the only thing you need to focus on when trying to manifest goals and welcome new opportunities in your life.

The World is Like a Ride in An Amusement Park
Bill Hicks
The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?'"
And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we...kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real."
It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. A choice, right now, between fear and love.
Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

Imagine You Are a Buddha
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche
Imagine this: What if you wake up one morning and when you look in the mirror, you don’t see “the usual you?”
What if you don’t see the grumpy you who hasn’t had coffee, the anxious you who’s worried about work, or the sensitive you that monitors the “likes” on your social media posts?
What if you don’t identify with your shortcomings? What if you’re not concerned about who you are or are not?
This isn’t just some fantasy. From beginningless time, the essence of your body, speech, and mind has been enlightened body, speech, and mind. The problem is, you don’t know it.

Daring To Get To Know Ourselves
The biggest obstacle to increasing your self-awareness is the tendency to avoid the discomfort that comes from seeing yourself as you really are. You do control the thoughts that follow an emotion, and you have a great deal of say in how you react to an emotion—as long as you are aware of it. Emotions serve an important purpose—they clue you into things that you’ll never understand if you don’t take the time to ask yourself why.
— Travis Bradberry, "Emotional Intelligence 2.0"
——
We begin the formidable task of getting to know ourselves by discovering our emotional nature—not in relation to anyone or anything, but in relation to ourselves alone. With or without anyone else playing a primary role, a person needs to know:
These questions are different from those of the tribal mind, which teaches us to ask: What do I like in relation to others? How strong can I be while still remaining attractive to others? What do I need from others in order to be happy? What will I have to change about myself in order to get someone to love me?

Create Your Very Own “Calm Button”
Anchoring is a common NLP technique used to program any desired feeling, habit, or state of being. It involves associating a specific physical or mental cue with your desired emotional state. To do this:
Here's an example to create a “calm button:”
Whenever you feel overwhelmed by stress, gently press your thumb and middle finger together while thinking of a relaxing vacation you went on. Over time, through repetition, the associated feelings of calm and clarity from your memory will become automatic every time you “press your button.”
You essentially created stress relief at your fingertips!

Hey there conscious creator! Take a look at this quote — which is one of my all-time favorites: Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in...
Hey there conscious creator! An interesting question was posed to me this week: How do I consciously create the life I desire and shift my identity to become the person I know I‘m destined to be when shit keeps happening around me that pushes me further away from that? I love that question — because it strikes at the heart of our journey. Translation: How do you step back into your power when it feels like the outside world is messing with you? Life is unpredictable, and we can't control...
Hey there conscious creator! Welcome to a special “Identity Shifting” edition of the You Are A Conscious Creator Newsletter. That’s right. This edition is all about Identity Shifting! What exactly is Identity Shifting? Identity Shifting is intentionally redefining your self-concept—how you see yourself and your beliefs about who you are to align with the person you want to become. You might be wondering, “Why would I want to change who I am?” Well, reality is merely a mirror—and our inner...
