🙌 Time to reset life

Hey there creator,

Hope you had an incredible summer.

Every time we reach this time of year where we are saying goodbye to summer, it always feels like I need to reset my life as I head towards the final months of the year.

Let’s face it, the summer months make it so easy to coast through life, doing whatever the hell we like, indulging every urge to go out, enjoying the weather, and letting loose a bit.

After all though if there's any time to slack off what better time than the summer? When there’s a choice between putting in an hour workout on a Saturday versus being outside in the gorgeous weather, kicking back in the sunshine wins every time.

Naturally, though, that means all the crap on our to-do list just piles up.

But as the seasons of life turn, it’s time for some R&R.

Resetting and regrouping that is.

In this post, I compiled some quick tips I've come across for resetting and regrouping on all the important aspects of life as we charge towards the year’s end.

Have a great week.

Self-Care And Self-Acceptance

"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare."

How do we know what our gifts are?
Lou Redmond | 3 minutes

Use the acronym GIFT: Gratitude, Inspiration, Freedom, Transformation.

  1. Gratitude: You know something is a gift when you feel grateful for the opportunity to give it.
  2. Inspiration: Our gifts are inspired, which means in-spirit. It is “ours”, yet we feel at times that we are chosen to birth something into existence.
  3. Freedom: Our gifts free us from a mundane level of existence. They offer freedom of expression and freedom of living.
  4. Transformation: Our gift transforms us because it forces us to not only grow in our skills but to conquer our demons of insecurity and go through the struggle of learning a craft.

Ten Rules For Being Human
Dr. Chérie Carter-Scott | 2 Minutes

Excerpts from rules 2 through 5:

You will be presented with lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called “life.” Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or hate them, but you have designed them as part of your curriculum.

There are no mistakes, only lessons.

A lesson is repeated until learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go to the next lesson.

Learning does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
