Hey Reader,

Hope you've been having a great couple of weeks.

It has been brutally cold here in NY, so there hasn't been much to do in the past few weeks.

So, I recently binged all of the Matrix movies after enjoying the latest one The Matrix Resurrections.

I was reminded of Morpheus' amazing speech to Neo in the original movie in which he says:

This has always been one of my favorite movie lines—because of how much of it rings true in what we believe to be "reality."

Every time I watch these movies, I can't help to wonder:

• Are we living in a matrix?
• Have we all been bluepilled to some extent?
• If so, then what makes for an authentic, fulfilling existence?
• What brings meaning and purpose?

Well, let’s start with two non-negotiable facts.

1. As far as we know, we are only getting one shot at this thing called life.
2. And we’re going to spend around a third of it asleep. 💤

With that said, the only question that needs answering is: are you going to take the red pill and be awake for the rest of it? 💊

Human Consciousness Is Only In Its Infancy

Suppose Earth’s history was charted on a single year’s calendar, with midnight January 1 representing the origin of the Earth and midnight December 31 the present. Then each day of Earth’s “year” would represent 12 million years of actual history.

On this scale:

• The first form of life, a simple bacterium, would arise sometime in February.
• More complex life-forms, however, come much later;
• the first fishes appear about November 20.
• The dinosaurs arrive around December 10 and disappear on Christmas Day.
• The first of our ancestors recognizable as human would not show up until the afternoon of December 31.
• Homo sapiens—our species—would emerge at about 11:45 P.M.

All that has happened in recorded history would occur in the final minute of the year.

The Day a Dying Hummingbird Restored My Hope

In this gripping piece filled with both pain and beauty, we are reminded that despite how much we have been through there are subtle signs of hope all around us. In the author's case, it was through an injured hummingbird.

And as she eloquently puts it's "the hope that waits at the edges of turbulence and loss and coaxes us up again after we’ve been dropped by life."

The dandelion is there by the sidewalk, smiling its wondrous smile, singing the song of eternity.

Listen! You have ears that can hear it.

Bow your head.

Listen to it.

Leave behind the world of sorrow and preoccupation and get free.

The latest good news is that you can do it.​
